hello-traditional software package provides example package not using any helper package, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install hello-traditional
hello-traditional is installed in your system.
Make ensure the hello-traditional package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep hello-traditional *
You will get with hello-traditional package name, version, architecture and description in a table
